East Park Ready For Spring

One of London's biggest outdoor attractions is almost ready for spring.

East Park is in the midst of its annual spring clean up and is aiming to have everything but the batting cages and water park open this weekend.

The golf course and driving range are already open.

The playground offers a wide range of activities, including golfing, mini putt, rock climbing, bumper cars, go-karts, an arcade, a water park and batting cages.

"Right now we are just testing all the go-karts and waiting to get an inspection because it's a licensed facility activity," says Alon Shatil, East Park's GM. "That's hopefully happening this week so we can open the karts for the weekend."

Shatil says the park doesn't need much more maintenance work and if the weather co-operates it should be almost fully functional by this weekend.

"The batting cages are almost ready to go, we just had to wait until the net had no snow on it so we could set it up," says Shatil. "For the mini-golf we had to bring people in to blow off the putting surface so that people could actually get a ball to roll on the surface."

Shatil says he hopes to have the batting cages up and running by next weekend, while the water park will not see any action until the May long weekend.
