Man Charged With Kidnapping, Sex Crimes

A Toronto man with links to both London and Chatham is facing several charges after allegedly holding a woman captive for five days and repeatedly sexually assaulting her.

Police believe there may be more victims.

Rejean Hermel Perron, 43, faces one count of kidnapping, sexual assault with a weapon, forcible confinement and assault.

Investigators say on March 31, a 27-year-old sex worker was approached by a man in Toronto. He allegedly threatened her with a gun and took her to a home where she was handcuffed and bound with duct tape, then sexually assaulted with a weapon several times. Police say the victim managed to escape to the front porch of the home, where a neighbour called police.

"He held her against her will for five days, didn't let her out of the house. It appears, through investigation, that she was targeted and he has some form of ritualistic actions involved in the crime," says Toronto Police Inspector Joanna Beaven-Desjardins. "He did do things that we are very unfamiliar with."

Perron was arrested on Monday and is to appear in a Toronto court today. He is originally from Timmins.
