Home County Headliners Announced

Some of Canada`s best known folk artists will be in London this summer for the annual Home County Music and Arts Festival.

The line-up for the 42nd edition of the festival was unveiled Wednesday night.

This year, Martha Wainwright, Grapes of Wrath, Sarah Slean and The Leahys join the all-Canadian lineup.

But musical acts weren't the only announcement made on Wednesday.

"We're very excited to announce that our Friday night MC for Home County is Colonel Chris Hadfield," says Darin Addison, artistic director of the festival.

There will also be over 120 Canadian vendors at the event.

"It began as the Home County Folk Festival, the name was rebranded in 2012 as the Home County Music and Arts Festival just to reflect the evolution of the music programming and the word 'art' is really there to pay tribute to the craft vendors," says Addison.

Local artists will also have a chance to display their talents. The festival will have a community open stage where amateur artists are invited to sign up for 15 minute slots to perform in front of an audience.

The festival will run from July 17-19 at Victoria Park.

As in past years, admission will be by donation.
