New Pain Management Classes For Kids

Kids Kicking Cancer is offering a new program in London that aims to help all children struggling with pain.

The Heroes' Circle will be offered at the London Lightning Gym twice a week. It uses martial arts and breathing techniques to help suffering children regain control over their illness and lives.

Kids Kicking Cancer uses the same methods, but has previously only been available for those diagnosed with cancer. Now, it is open to all and free of cost.

Seth Coulter, who suffers from a rare blood disorder, says the program has changed his life.

"I come in kind of drowsy and some days not feeling the greatest, but I leave feeling energectic. It's like a took a six hour nap before coming here," Coulter tells BlackburnNews.com. "It may seem off at first, but as soon as you get into the class and get the amazing vibe it gives, you're hooked. You're just going to want to join and keep going."

The Children's Hospital in London was the first Canadian site to start offering the Kids Kicking Cancer program in 1999. Since then, over 5,000 children have taken part in the program at 50 sites across the world.
