Protests Planned for Inside and Outside Cosby Show

On Thursday night, hundreds of protesters plan to rally outside Budweiser Gardens in protest of an appearance by Bill Cosby.

Megan Walker of the London Abused Women's Centre says she had hoped the show would be cancelled by now in light of dozens of allegations against Cosby, of violence and sexual assault. Some 30 women have alleged that they were assaulted or drugged or both by Cosby, some as far back as 1969.

Walker says Cosby's management should advise him to cancel his shows in London and elsewhere in Ontario. Walker says there are reasons why the accusations are only coming to light now and it's important to show these women that they're believed.

Protesters plan to gather at 6 pm Thursday. Some ticketholders who were denied refunds say they plan to heckle the comic from inside the show. Walker says that activity is separate from the protest she is involved with for outside the venue.

A Blackburn News reporter will be at the protest on Thursday.
