The city now has a Deputy Mayor and a runner-up in case that person is away when the Mayor is off duty.
For the past four years, councillors took turns being in charge when Mayor Fontana was away. Now councillor Paul Hubert will fill in for Mayor Matt Brown during the entire four-year term. The second Deputy Mayor has a term limit of one year. New councillor Maureen Cassidy was chosen as the term's first back-up deputy.
