Black Friday Shopping Day

It’s Black Friday at U.S. retailers and many in Canada as well. London is certainly getting in on the action. It’s so-called because it’s when retailers get “into the black” for the year, and is the official kick-off to the holiday shopping season, now that U.S. Thanksgiving Day is over.

BlackburnNews.com talked to area residents to see if they plan to hit the stores looking for a great deal. Comments ranged from “I don’t like crowds” to “I’ll look at the flyers and I’ll see what I can find and if I see anything of value then yes, I will go out and do some shopping.”

White Oaks Mall and Masonville Place open at 7am.

Westmount and Target stores opened at 6am. And don’t forget the small, local retailers who are also getting in on the Black Friday shopping action. Some retailers started offering deals as early as the beginning of the week and on-line, with many continuing right through the weekend, if not longer.
