Police Probe Rash Of Break-Ins

Police are reminding residents to take precautions after a spike in break and enters at homes in south London.

Police say between October 21 and November 3, there were 16 break-ins at homes in the area bordered by Wharncliffe Rd, Fairview Ave, Commissioners Rd, and the Thames River.

The break-ins happened on all days of the week and at all hours of the day. Police say thieves got in through windows and doors, and stole items like high end jewelry, electronics, and credit cards.

Residents in the area are asked to be vigilant of persons loitering in and around their homes and report suspicious activity to the police immediately.

The Crime Analysis Unit of the London Police Service detected this pattern using analytical software purchased using a grant from the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.
