Slain Soldier Laid To Rest
Thousands gathered in Hamilton on Tuesday to pay respects to slain Corporal Nathan Cirillo.
The 24-year-old was standing guard at the National War Memorial in Ottawa last week when he was shot and killed.
He was a serving member of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders based in Hamilton.
Cirillo’s 5-year-old son, Marcus, followed his father’s casket in a procession to the Christ’s Church Cathedral .
Family members, fellow soldiers, police officers, Prime Minister Stephen Harper, NDP leader Tom Mulcair, and Liberal leader Justin Trudeau were among the dignitaries that attended the funeral.
