Trial Set For Driver In Deadly Costco Crash

A car crashed into the Costco store in south London. July 25-14

The woman charged after the deadly crash at a London Costco will stand trial on June 1.

Ruth Burger, 65, now faces two charges of criminal negligence causing death and two charges of criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

She was behind the wheel of a car that reversed through the doors of a Costco in south London on July 25, striking a pregnant mother and her two daughters.

Addison Hall, 6, died as a result of the crash. Danah McKinnon-Bozek had to undergo an emergency c-section due to  her injuries. Her newborn daughter, Rhiannon , died a week later.  Miah Bozek, 3,  was also injured in the crash.

Initially, Burger was only charged with one count of criminal negligence causing death since baby Rhiannon was not born at the time of the incident, but after consultations between police and the Crown, the additional charge was laid last month.

Burger will face a trial by judge. Five days have been set aside for the proceedings.
