Hwy 3 Crash Critically Injures Man

Elgin OPP say a Simcoe man is in critical condition after a head-on crash on Hwy. 3.
Around 6:35am on Thursday, a 2007 Chevy Silverado pick-up truck was heading east on Hwy. 3 near Springer Hill Rd. when it crossed over the centre line and collided head on with a westbound tractor trailer.
The driver and lone occupant of the pick-up truck, a 51-year-old Simcoe man, had to be extricated from the truck. He was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the tractor trailer, a 54-year-old Dutton Dunwich man, wasn’t hurt.
Police are still investigating the crash, which happened as a blanket of fog covered the region.
