FedDev Invests In London

Two London organization are splitting $1.4-million in federal money to fund expansions.

Voices.com will get $900,000 in funding to expand into global markets and translate their online platforms into six different languages.

The Southwestern Ontario Angel Group, an organization focused on training entrepreneurs and funding start ups,  will use $500,000 to increase membership from 65 to 115 which will then result in 40 companies receiving $10-million over the next 5 years.

“The number of jobs that this funding will help us create is 45 over the next three years, but certainly we’re looking at accelerating that,” says Voices.com CEO David Cicarelli. “We’re working directly with some of the largest organizations in the world; big fortune 500 companies, media production companies and ad agencies, they come and engage us directly.

Both agencies went through the London Economic Development Corporation to apply for the funding.
