Feds Invest in London Skills Training Programs
A London MP has announced funding to help young people find jobs.
On Tuesday morning at LEADS Employment Services on Queens Ave. in London, MP Susan Truppe announced funding for three centres that assist young people with training and job searches.
Truppe, Member of Parliament for London North Centre and Parliamentary Secretary for Status of Women, distributed $1-million from the government’s Skills Link program that is meant to assist youth facing barriers to unemployment get the skills and knowledge they need to find jobs.
Distribution is as follows:
- $225,740 to Leads Employment services
- $352,431 to Youth Opportunities Unlimited (YOU)
- $373,659 to Hutton House.
Altogether, the federal government says this funding will help more than 130 young people in their quest for training and employment.
