A Malahide Township man is charged with careless driving after a collision on Saturday north of Aylmer that involved three vehicles.

Elgin County OPP say a man driving his pick-up north on Imperial Rd. between Glen Colin Line and College Line on Saturday October 11 at about 4 pm. Police say his attention was taken away from the wheel because of loose tires moving around in the pick-up bed. Police say he rear-ended another pick-up that had stopped to enter a private driveway. The force of the collision pushed the second truck into the southbound lane where it hit a car.

The driver of the first pick-up was transported to hospital with minor injuries. The 49-year-old man driving the second pick-up was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A 60-year-old London woman at the wheel of the car wasn’t hurt.

Derek Mann, 23, has been charged with careless driving.
