Man With Gun Prompts Hold And Secure

London police have arrested a suspect in a weapons investigation that led to three schools in the south end being placed in “hold and secure” mode.

Police were called Monday about reports of a man with a gun in the area of Wilton Grove Public School. That school, along with neighbouring St. Francis Elementary and Sir Wilfred Laurier Secondary School, was kept locked and students were kept in their classrooms.

Just before 1pm, police announced they had arrested a suspect. Not long after the arrest, things returned to normal at the affected schools.

Police say the suspect is a 61-year-old man, who is alleged to have fired shots in a shed on Barrett Cr. His name has not been released, as charges have not yet been laid.
