Items Belonging To Deceased Newborn Stolen

A grieving family is pleading for the return of items belonging to their deceased infant son after a thief stole them from their car.

On September 14 a pregnant woman was seriously injured when her pick-up truck  collided with a minivan in Wingham. The baby died as a result of the crash. The child’s mother remains in critical condition in a London hospital.

London police say, between 8pm on September 21 and 8am on September 22, the father’s vehicle was broken into in the parking lot of a Wellington Rd. hotel.

The thief stole a clear-varnish oak box with a number of sentimental items inside, including a lock of the baby boy’s hair, moldings of the baby’s feet, a yellow knit hat, baby pictures, a brown and white sleeper and a card with the baby’s name and date of death on it.

Anyone who has found this box or any of the contents is asked to contact London police.
