LHSC Receives Largest Breast Cancer Donation Ever
The Breast Cancer Society of Canada making its largest donation ever to the London Health Sciences Centre Regional Cancer Program.
The society is giving $5-million to the Pamela Greenaway-Kohlmeir Translation Breast Cancer Research Unit.
Officials say the patient-focused research takes observations and questions from bedsides to the lab in an effort to advance cancer treatments.
“I thank the Breast Cancer Society of Canada for sharing our vision and helping us to create programs in London that are focused on improving diagnosis and care of breast cancer patients,” says Director of the Pamela Greenaway-Kohlmeir Translation Breast Cancer Research Unit Dr. Ann Chambers. “We are grateful for this remarkable, ongoing support.”
Over the years, the Breast Cancer Society of Canada has donated more than $10-million towards funding breast cancer research at the LHSC.
The London Health Sciences Foundation’s $200-million fundraising campaign is now well over the halfway mark.
