The case of a 10-year old boy locked in a filthy bedroom for up to two years returns to court Thursday. The man and woman accused of keeping him locked up are scheduled to appear before a judge.

Londoners were shocked on May 29, when news broke of a young Korean boy, who was sent to Canada for a better life with his aunt and uncle.

Instead, police say he was kept out of school, held in a squalid bedroom, and fed fast food twice a day.

On Thursday, his aunt and uncle are to appear in court again, charged with forcible confinement and failing to provide the necessaries of life.

The boy’s discovery came after tips came in to the Children’s Aid Society. He’s now in foster care. The names of the accused aunt and uncle are not being released to protect the boy’s identity.
