Majors Lose, Loss Away From Elimination
The Kitchener Panthers beat the London Majors 4-3 in a 10-inning thriller putting the series at 3-2 for Kitchener.
Panthers’ left fielder Jeff Pietraszko’s sacrifice fly in the 10th scored centre fielder Tanner Nivins. The Majors didn’t have an answer when they came up to bat.
London looked good heading into the sixth inning with a 3-1 lead. The Panthers were able to tie the game in the top of the sixth inning and it stayed that way until extras.
The Majors managed 10 hits with third baseman Paul Young going 3-for-5.
Starting pitcher Carlos Martinez went nine innings allowing three runs on four hits with twelve strikeouts. Reliever Josh Palmer took the loss after he entered in the 10th and gave up the winning run.
The Majors and Panthers play Saturday afternoon at 4pm in Kitchener.
