Arrests Made In Southdale Assault

Nearly a month after it happened, two men are now charged in an assault that left a man in critical condition.

Around 6:30am on July 15, police were called to 337 Southdale Rd. E, where they found an unconscious man who had been brutally beaten.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He is still in hospital, although his condition has improved to “stable.”

Investigators determined the assault happened about 7 hours before the victim, 63 year oldĀ Michael Barnhart, was found.

On Monday, August 11 police arrested two suspects.

Timothy Scott Rex, 41, of London, is charged with one count of aggravated assault.

Christopher Charles Rex, 59, of London, is charged with one count of being an accessory after the fact to the offence of aggravated assault.

Both men are to appear in court on Tuesday, August 12.
