Apartment Tenants Still Out of Homes

About 120 tenants of an Adelaide St. apartment building are still being kept out of their units while an investigation continues into the cause of Saturday’s fire.

The property manager at Adelaide North Developments says damage is estimated at between $1-million to $2-million. As for a cause, he says there are only rumours at this point.

One firefighter suffered a leg injury and one resident treated for smoke inhalation as a result of the stubborn blaze in a three-story walk-up at 869 Adelaide St. between Grosvenor St. and St. James St. Deputy fire chief Dave Lazenby says the firefighter is “OK.”

The 911 call came in just before 6 am Saturday and the street was blocked for several hours.

Police, the London Fire Department, and the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office are investigating.
