Majors Drop First Playoff Game
The London Majors looked like they were going to blowout the Kitchener Panthers in the first game of their Intercounty Baseball League semifinal.
After five innings, it was 8-0 London. But the Panthers piled on the runs, with eight in the eighth, to run away with the first game 16-11.
The Majors scored five runs in the third making it 6-0. They would add two more in the fifth before the Panthers woke up.
Majors’ Centre-fielder Ryan Lapensee went 2-for-5 with two RBI’s. Designated Hitter Chris Dennis also had two RBI’s going 1-for-2 drawing three walks.
London starter Deinys Suarez left the game after 5.1 innings of work giving up four runs on four hits. The bullpen couldn’t hold the lead as Taylor Carr, David Wydeven, and Corey Hammond gave up a total of nine runs on nine hits. Wydeven took the loss.
The Majors’ next game is on Sunday in Kitchener at 7pm.
