London police have identified the 19-year-old woman killed when her bicycle was hit by a truck on Thursday afternoon.

Police say Alexandra Foto was taken to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries after the Wharncliffe Rd. and Riverside Dr. crash.

She collided with a cement-mixing truck at the northwest corner of the busy intersection. Investigators have determined the truck was heading west on Riverside, and hit her as the driver made a right turn onto Wharncliffe.

Foto was a London resident, a former student of Sir Frederick Banting Secondary School and was going into her second year in International Development at the University of Waterloo. She had taken part in a number of youth mission trips with World Vision to places like Kenya and the Dominican Republic. She was an official Youth Ambassador for World Vision Canada, and most recently traveled to Brazil to be a part of the World Vision Cup.

Police say the investigation is ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the crash and has not yet spoken to police is asked to call 519-661-5680.
