Majors Walk-Off Win In 12th

No music could be played after 11pm last night at Labatt Park, but the London Majors provided all the entertainment.

Third baseman Paul Young singled home Cody Mombourquette in the 12th inning for a 3-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Majors needed a run in the 9th to tie the game when shortstop Paul Lytwynec got a hit to score Paul LaMantia.

London starter Deinys Suarez pitched seven innings, striking out nine and only allowing one earned run. Brett Sabourin came in for relief in the ninth and pitched four innings without giving up a run as he took the win.

The London Majors move to 20-12 on the season and sit second place in the Intercounty Baseball League. Their next game is Saturday night against the Guelph Royals.
