Fire Quickly Doused At East-End Auto Shop

July 17, 2014 4:21pm
Heavy smoke and flames shot out of an east-end auto body shop on Thursday as firefighters arrived on a call just after 1pm.
The fire charred the building that was home to H&K Autoparts, part of a collection of businesses at 126 Clarke Rd. (between Trafalgar St. and Gore Rd.)
Platoon Chief Jim Holmes says the fire was under control very quickly.
There is no estimate as to the damage the fire caused, but the inside of the building and the wood plank roof were heavily damaged, along with a car inside the shop.
Holmes says when firefighters arrived on the scene everyone had already exited the building safely.
The cause of the fire is still unclear.
