Three Times The Legal Limit

A Bluewater man was arrested Thursday after police allege he was driving after consuming three times the legal limit of alcohol.

Middlesex OPP officers stopped the driver on Richmond St. near McGillivray Dr. in Lucan, around 7:40pm, after a traffic complaint about the northbound vehicle.

Police say once they determined the driver had been drinking he was taken to the Lucan OPP detachment for breath testing. Officers allege the man had three times the legal limit of alcohol in his blood.

37-year-old Clarence Gallant of Bluewater was charged with driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in his blood. He was released, with a promise to appear at a court date next month.
