Canada Day Activities

London rocker and Free-FM Under the Covers winner Sarah Smith headlines the entertainment line-up at The City of London’s official Canada Day celebration.

Family-friendly festivities at Harris Park will open with a First Nations gathering at noon, followed by a Canadian Citizenship ceremony at 2pm.

Entertainment gets underway at 3pm with children’s performer Robert Davis, a Polish dance troupe, Western Fair District’s Rise 2 Fame Talent Contest and Canada Sings.  Sarah Smith hits the stage at 8:30pm. Canada Day fireworks will launch at 10pm.

The city also says there will be festival food, vendors and exhibits celebrating Canada’s diverse community and Canadian Heroes.  Admission is free and you’re advised to bring lawn chairs if you plan to stay awhile.

The Canada Day party at West Park Church on Gainsborough Rd goes Saturday from 5-10:15pm.

In Dorchester, they are celebrating Canada Day on Sunday. The Dorchester Lions Club are sponsoring a fireworks display at the FlightExec Centre, 2066 Dorchester Rd Dorchester, at dusk.

The Summerside Optimist Canada Day celebration goes from 3-1030pm on Saturday at Meadowgate Park.

Other Canada Day events include:

East London Canada Day celebrations beginning at noon at East Lions Park at the corner of Wavell and Edmonton. Events include live entertainment, a BBQ, kids activities and games and fireworks at 10pm.

Dominion Day at Fanshawe Pioneer Village including a trip back in time to the 1st of July, 1867. A BBQ lunch is offered for $14 per person, $7 for kids 12 and under. At 1pm, there’ll be a vintage baseball game between the Vintage London Tecumeshs and modern London Tecumsehs at 1:00 pm

East Park will be open on Canada Day. Golf Course: 7am-dusk. Mini Golf & Driving Range: 8am-10pm Intencity Indoor Building: 10am-10pm. Go Kart Track: 11am-9pm. Water Park: 12pm-7pm.

London Majors play the Toronto Maple Leafs on July 1. Game time is 6:05pm.
