The body of a London man was discovered on Tuesday on the shore of Lake Erie just west of Little Beach, Port Stanley.

A local resident out for a walk at about 10:30am, found the body of 65-year-old Antonio Romao of London lying on the rocky shore. Elgin OPP say foul play is not suspected and there is no connection to last week’s search for a possible missing person off the break wall.

Police say there is evidence that the man had been fishing from the shoreline at the time of his death. Officers found fishing equipment and other personal effects nearby, as well as the victim’s vehicle parked in a nearby lot. The victim was last seen by family at approximately 2pm on Monday.

A post mortem examination is scheduled for today at London’s University Hospital to determine a cause of death.
