Parking For Charity
It’s a company that is sometimes the target of grumbling from London motorists. But Impark is offering up some charity and cheaper parking during the Memorial Cup in London.
Hockey fans who park in any of the five Impark lots around Budweiser Gardens during the Memorial Cup will be able to take $5 off the $15 cost by donating a non-perishable food item.
The donations will go to the Unity Project for Relief of Homelessness.
The offer is good on May 16, 18, and 21, which are the dates the London Knights play their round robin games.
Volunteers will be at the lots to collect donations.
“Impark has been an enormous supporter of our community,” says Silvia Langer, development manager for Unity Project, an emergency shelter and transitional housing charity. “Impark sponsors Unity Project’s Golf Classic, London’s Hockey Helps the Homeless, and the MS Bike, among others. I feel a lot better paying for parking when I know it supports my community. We are very grateful.”
The offer will be extended to any additional days the Knights play, should there be a tie breaker or if the Knights advance to the semi-finals and the championship game.
The deal is being offered at the following parking lots:
- Covent Garden Market underground
- Carling Ave. between Richmond and Talbot
- Queens Ave. at Talbot
- King St. across from Budweiser Gardens
- King-York-Talbot-Richmond across from Covent Garden Market
