Three Lives Lost On Ontario Roads

Despite reminders to motorists beforehand, Ontario Provincial Police say there were three fatalities over the Easter long weekend.

This brings the total number of deaths on OPP-patrolled roads and highways to 65 this year.

The OPP also reports one marine fatality.

Leading up to the long weekend, the OPP issued several reminders to road users about the importance of wearing a seat belt, not driving impaired and not driving agressive or distracted.

In a news release, the OPP says the fatalities serve as a harsh reminder that it only takes one act of carelessness to raise the number of deaths on roadways.
