Charges Laid After Gas Bar Robbery AttemptApril 11, 2014 1:22pm
A 28-year-old man is facing a list of charges after police allege he tried to rob a gas bar with a tire iron.
Police say at 8:40pm Tuesday night, a man demanded cash from a gas bar employee at Oxford St. and Westdel Bourne. Both the employee and the suspect ended up with non-life threatening head injuries after, what police are calling, an “altercation.”
The suspect allegedly took off without any cash in a stolen vehicle that was later found abandoned on Boler Rd.
28-year-old Aaron Schuyler was arrested on Wednesday and charged with attempted robbery, assault with a weapon, having his face masked/disguised, and possession of property obtained by crime. He is still in police custody.
Police are reminding the public to think of their own safety and not engage suspects in similar situations.
