Police Officer Hurt During ArrestMarch 22, 2014 9:13am
A St. Thomas police officer was injured during an arrest in the south-east end.
Officers were called to a home Friday night regarding a domestic dispute. When they arrived they were told a man was hiding inside, possibly with a knife.
Officers found a man unarmed in the basement bathroom. They say he briefly resisted arrest, leaving an officer with minor injuries.
A 34-year-old man is charged with domestic assault, assault with a weapon, resisting arrest, threats to cause death, possessing a prohibited weapon, failing to comply with a recognizance and mischief.
