Rain, Freezing Rain For Last Full Day of Winter

Spring officially begins at 12:57pm on Thursday and it appears the last full day of winter in London will be wet and mild.

However if you’re planning to drive north of Middlesex County or north of the GTA you may encounter freezing rain, ice pellets and possibly snow.  Environment Canada predicts the precipitation may start as patchy freezing rain and then turn to rain for those areas within southwestern Ontario and the Golden Horseshoe.

Parts of north and central Ontario may receive snow at first, followed by freezing rain. As it becomes milder this afternoon, it will change to rain.  As much as 10 cm of snow could accumulate in some northern areas.

Meteorologists think patchy freezing rain or showers will begin at around 7am For Toronto and the rest of the GTA.
