There are events planned in Durham to keep the kids busy on Halloween.

One looks to be scary. The Durham Soccer Club has a real haunted house set up on Douglas Street. It was open last weekend and will be again this Friday and Saturday.

Organizer Ann Hagedorn said she went through last weekend herself.

“It’s quite scary. I participated last weekend and I heard lots of screams. It’s an indoor and outdoor event. There are many characters that you may recognize from movies in the past,” said Hagedorn.

Hagedorn said they’ve worked with Public Health on the project and all Covid safety protocols will be in place. The Haunted House in Durham is open from 6 to 9:30 PM Friday and Saturday at 891 Douglas St. Admission is two dollars with all proceeds going to the Durham Food Bank.

Also on Halloween, the Municipality of West Grey is hosting a drive-thru Halloween Party at the Durham arena parking lot. Kids can dress up and get some treats from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
