Huron East’s Economic Development Officer says the municipality will be hosting the virtual launch of a new music video this Thursday night.

Jan Hawley says the music video is titled Looking Out My Back Door and was created by Doctor Christopher Cooper to celebrate the beautification of the back alleys on the main street in Seaforth so the stores could stay open during the construction on the main street. 

“So that all came about because of the construction. We need to open up the back doors of the stores that were affected and then it morphed into something actually quite spectacular and that included a lot of art exhibits as well as this music video.”

Hawley says it’s been a very challenging, but interesting year. 

“We started planning for our road construction well over a year ago and then COVID-19 came. But we were prepared and we had a marketing plan and merchants have been great and we’ve actually gained more businesses then we’ve lost.”

Hawley adds, in two weeks they expect the construction to be completed and the new main street will be open.
