After careful consideration, Softball Canada has decided to cancel all 2020 fast and slo-pitch championships for 2020.

10 championships were to be held across 6 provinces this year from July through September, but due to ongoing concerns with the COVID-19 pandemic, Softball Canada deemed it best to cancel the championships.

With regards to softball and its season across the country, Softball Canada is recommending a full suspension of all softball activities until at least May 31st. As of June 1st, as provinces, territories and local municipalities begin reopening fields and sports facilities, Softball Canada advises members to follow the guidelines established by their local Provincial/Territorial Softball Associations.

“Our decision to cancel the 2020 Canadian Championships was an extremely difficult one, however we are confident it is the right call designed to protect the health and wellbeing of our member athletes, coaches, umpires and volunteers” stated Softball Canada President Scott Neiles. “We remain extremely hopeful that the 2020 softball season will be able to be played at the local level in many areas of the country.”
