Grey-Bruce Health Unit sets up temporary drinking water sample stations

To reduce the number of hospital visitors during COVID-19, Grey-Bruce Health Unit will no longer be accepting private drinking water samples.

Instead, the health unit has partnered with three local stores that have volunteered to be drinking water sample drop-off stations. That includes Sobey’s in Kincardine, Foodland in Wiarton and Foodland in Markdale. Residents with private drinking water systems can take their samples to these locations, as well as the Grey-Bruce Health Unit building in Owen Sound.

The four drop-off locations will have fridges designated for the private water samples, which will then be sent to London to be lab-tested as per usual.

The hours for returning full bottles at each location are:

Grey-Bruce Health Unit-Owen Sound:

8:30am-4:30pm Monday to Thursday

Friday 8:30am-11:15am

Wiarton Foodland:

8am-8pm Monday to Thursday

Friday 8am-10:25am

Markdale Foodland:

8am-8pm Monday to Thursday

Friday 8am-12:25pm

Kincardine Sobey’s:

8am-8pm Monday to Thursday

Friday 8am-9am
