Suspicious person report leads to arrest

A 42-year-old Chatham man was arrested in Wallaceburg.

Chatham-Kent police received a report of a suspicious person on Duke Street on Thursday afternoon.

Officers located the man and learned he was wanted in connection to a shoplifting incident at the LCBO in Chatham, and for failing to comply with his Probation Order.

He was taken into custody and charged before being released with a future court date.

Chatham pair arrested for breaching conditions

A call for assistance in Chatham led to charges for two people.

Just before 5 a.m. on Friday, officers responded to a residence. While there they learned the women was bound by conditions to not associate with the man.

The 23-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply with her release conditions. She is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The 25-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with facilitating a breach. He remains in custody pending release with a future court date.

Two vehicle crash causes $40,000 in damage

Chatham-Kent police were called to a two-vehicle collision on Davidson Road near Pollard Line in Tilbury East on Thursday afternoon.

No one was physically injured, but the total damage is estimated at $40,000.

One of the drivers was charged with start from stopped position – not in safety.
