He was released at the scene with a future court date.

Failure to stop leads to police pursuit

Police were called to an address in Chatham on Saturday and discovered a man known to be wanted by another jurisdiction in Ontario.

The man was reportedly in a vehicle with stolen plates and was believed to have been in a police pursuit earlier that day.

Police said the suspect became aware of a police presence and allegedly took off at a high rate of speed.

The suspect’s vehicle was abandoned outside Chatham-Kent and later found by another police service.
