Man arrested on outstanding warrant
Chatham-Kent police arrested a man on a warrant for breaching his conditions.
Last August, the accused appeared in court and entered a probation order with conditions. He was released in late December 2020 on an undertaking with conditions.
On April 8, police learned the man has breached both orders and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The 28-year-old man was located by police on Thursday at a home on McNaughton Avenue West in Chatham and was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.
Police warn residents of CRA fraudsters
Police are reminding people to be vigilant if they receive phone calls, texts, or emails claiming to be the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
People are being warned to think twice before giving personal information such as social insurance, credit card or bank numbers away to an unknown individual.
Chatham-Kent police say scammers will usually insist the information is needed so you can receive a benefit, or pay back a debt. They may also try to threaten or use coercion to scare potential victims into paying.
