Man allegedly found with drugs

A 35-year-old Chatham man was arrested on a warrant and searched.

In February and in March the man was released from custody with some conditions. One of his conditions was to not possess or consume any unlawful drugs or substances.

Last week Wednesday, a warrant was issued for the man’s arrest after an investigation revealed he was responsible for a break and enter on Park Avenue E. in Chatham.

Yesterday at 4:00 p.m. an officer saw the man enter a business on Thames Street. The man was arrested on a warrant and searched. Illicit drugs were found in his pocket during the search.

Upon further investigation, police found that the man had multiple warrants for his arrest. He was arrested and charged with failing to comply and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he has been held in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

Man turns himself him

A 26-year-old Chatham man was arrested on a warrant.

It happened on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. after the man entered CKPS headquarters and turned himself him.

The man had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for failing to comply.

He has been held in custody for a bail hearing.

Man arrested at a bar 

A 45-year-old man was arrested at a bar.

It happened Saturday morning at 2:00 a.m. after officers entered a bar on Grand Avenue E. for a disturbance report.

Police found a man who was unable to care for himself.

The man was charged with public intoxication and transported to CKPS Headquarters where he was held until sober.

Looking for public help:

A variety of tools valued at approximately $10,000 were stolen from two trailers.

Sometime throughout Thursday night, two construction trailers parked on Riverview Drive in Chatham were broken into.
