Man Charged after breaking curfew: 

A 34-year-old Chatham-Kent man was found outside of his curfew conditions.

In March 2019, the man was released from police custody with conditions. His conditions were to obey a curfew between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. daily and to not own break and enter tools.

On Saturday night at 11:50 p.m. police stopped the man who was riding a bicycle in the area of Grand Avenue at Courthouse Lane in Chatham. He did not have a valid reason for being out past his curfew and was arrested for failing to comply. After being searched, police found that he had tools that could be used in a break and enter.

The man was arrested and charged with failing to comply and possession of break-in-tools.

He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he has been held for a bail hearing.

Woman Charged after breaking curfew:

A 44-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was found intoxicated by police.

In October 2018, the woman was released from police custody with conditions. One of her conditions was to obey a curfew between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. daily.

Early Sunday morning at 2 a.m. officers located the woman on Park Street. Police were aware of her curfew condition and determined that she was intoxicated. She was arrested and charged with failing to comply.

She was transported to CKPS Headquarters where she has been held for a bail hearing.

Shed break and enter in Wallaceburg: 

Someone has stolen a shop-vac and a lawnmower.

On Friday and Saturday a shed on Murray Street was entered and the items were taken.

The estimated value of these items is $300.

R.I.D.E. program a continued success: 

Police in Chatham-Kent conducted several RIDE checks across the municipality Saturday with a positive result. Out of 768 stopped vehicles, all of the drivers co-operated with the rules of the road and continued on their journeys. Police are thanking the public for helping to keep roadways safe.
