A 34-year-old Chatham man is charged with assault after allegedly hitting a woman he’s in a relationship with.
Police say they got the call at around 11am Monday after the pair got into an argument at their home in Chatham and continued the altercation outside on the front lawn.
Officers say the argument escalated to the point where the man allegedly hit the woman.
Police were called, but no injuries were reported.
The man officers arrested was charged and released with a future court date.
A Chatham man is finding himself in some trouble with the law after allegedly texting a woman he wasn’t supposed to while he was in a detention centre.
Police say the man allegedly sent the text message back in February — after he was previously ordered not to communicate with the woman.
A 32-year-old man was released from the detention centre on Monday and immediately taken back into custody on the new charge of failing to comply.
