Police Briefs – Monday, December 26, 2016

Chatham-Kent police are investigating a couple of break-ins that happened over the weekend.

Sometime between December 24 and 25, police say an unknown suspect(s) broke into a business on St. Clair St. in Chatham.

About $300 worth of merchandise and cash had been reported stolen.

Two large crates of frozen food has been taken from a freezer unit.

Police say on December 25 around 5:30am, an unknown suspect(s) broke into a large freezer unit on Park Ave. E. in Chatham.

The two crates are worth $100.

A business on St. Clair St. has avoided a break-in early Monday morning.

Police say around 6:25am, an unknown suspect(s) climbed onto the roof of the business in Chatham and tried to break-in through a locked door.

Unable to get inside, the suspect(s) ran off before police arrived on scene.
