Police Briefs – Monday, October 10, 2016

A 41-year-old Wallaceburg man is facing charges following a dispute with his wife and family members.

Police made the arrest yesterday for offences that happened back in September.

On September 18, the man allegedly threw a screwdriver at his wife (just missing her) during an argument.

Through investigation, police found out that the man had previously made threats towards his family. No injuries have been reported.

The Wallaceburg man has been charged with uttering threats and assault with a weapon. He will remain in custody pending a bail hearing.


A business on St. Clair St. in Chatham has been broken into.

Around 10:30am on Sunday, the store owner called police after finding the front door smashed.

Police say cash and e-cigarette products had been stolen.

There are currently no suspects.
