About $700 worth of tools have been stolen from a property on Harwich St. in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police say sometime Friday night an unknown number of suspects broke into the property causing about $50 in damages, and left with several tools.

The failure to appear for court dates has resulted in the arrest of a 28-year-old Chatham woman.

Police say in February 2016, the woman was charged with failing to comply with probation and released with a court date.  She failed to appear in court  and a warrant had been issued for her arrest.

In April 2016, the woman failed again to appear for another court date and another warrant had been issued.

On Friday, police say the female was found on Grand Ave. E in Chatham. She has been arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she’ll stay pending a bail hearing.


Police have arrested a 20-year-old Blenheim man after finding him at a residence he had broken into.

Friday evening police were called to Lorne Ave. in Chatham because a man had been breaching a condition on his release.

Police say not only was he breaching his condition but through investigation he had broken into the residence.

He has been charged with failing to comply with probation and break and enter with intent.

The man will be held in custody pending a bail hearing.
