Police Briefs – Saturday, September 10, 2016

Police have arrested a Chatham man after he allegedly threatened his girlfriend with a pair of scissors.

Police say around 5:45pm Friday evening, the couple was fighting when the situation escalated.

A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats.


Police are looking for a man and woman who stole Rayban glasses worth $600 from a local store.

Friday afternoon around 1pm, the two entered a business on St. Clair St. in Chatham, took the glasses without paying, and fled on bicycles.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Chatham-Kent police.


About $400 worth of Mastercraft tools has been stolen  from a garage on Willowmac Ave. in Chatham.

Police say the unknown suspects broke into the garage sometime between September 8 and 9.
