A drunken hang-up call to 911 didn’t turn out so well for a Tilbury man.

This morning around 1:30am police were dispatched to the Laurentia Dr. area in Tilbury, in regards to a hang-up call.

Police say they have charged a 55-year-old Tilbury man with being intoxicated in a public place.  He was later released once he became sober.

In the past 24 hours Chatham-Kent police received about 14 false calls to 911.

They’re reminding the public to only call 911 in emergency situations.

For non-emergency incidents they’re asking people to call the dispatch center at 519-352-1234.

Police are investigating a break and enter at a storage container in the River Line area of Howard Township.

They say unknown suspects broke the lock on a storage container, stealing about $200 worth of items.

Police say the incident happened sometime between 11pm on September 2 and 9am on September 3.
