Police Briefs – Sunday, August 28, 2016
A fight over alcohol has resulted in the arrest of a Chatham man.
On Saturday police say a male and a female were fighting over alcohol when the male poured beer over the female’s head and threw the can at her. He then allegedly assaulted her and broke a window.
Police have arrested a 40-year-old male and have charged him with assault with a weapon, assault, and mischief. He remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

Police are investigating a break and enter that occurred sometime between 5pm on August 26 and 11:30am on August 27.
They say the unknown suspect(s) entered a fenced compound on Siemens Dr. in Chatham and stole a Yamaha generator and a Yamaha boat motor.

Police say about $3500 worth of fishing equipment has been stolen from a boat docked at the marina in Erieau.
The alleged theft happened sometime during the week.
