One woman is facing charges after another was injured during an assault in Wallaceburg.

Chatham-Kent police say on Saturday around 1:20am, officers responded to Dufferin Ave. after a woman was grabbed by the hair and thrown to the ground, causing a cut on her head. The victim needed several stitches as result.

An allegedly intoxicated Wallaceburg woman was arrested at the scene and charged for the assault. She has been released with a future court date.


A 20-year-old Chatham woman is facing charges after allegedly threatening to burn down a local business.

CK police say on Friday around 6pm, officers responded to the business on Lacroix St. in Chatham after the woman had become irate at staff members and allegedly made the threat.

The woman is also accused of kicking a vehicle in parking lot as she left the business, causing more than $5,000 in damages.

The woman was located a short distance by officers who placed under arrest. Police allege that she appeared to be under the influence of drugs and tried to spit on an officer.

She was released following a bail hearing with a future court date.


CK police have arrested a man on an outstanding warrant.

On Friday, a woman concerned about her boyfriend’s metal well-being, asked officers to speak with him.

The man was located by officers while on his way to the woman’s home. Police allege the man fled when he spotted the officers. However, he was eventually located and arrested once officers determined that he had an outstanding warrant. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
